WHAT IS CANDELA GENTLEMAX PRO LASER?

The leading laser in the world for laser hair removal. It offers both the Alexandrite and ND:YAG laser systems.

Alexandrite Laser (755nm):

Because of its high rate of melanin absorption, it is also referred to as the "Gold Standard" in laser hair removal. This laser is used on skin types 1-3 (Very fair skin to Olive Mediterranean skin).

ND:YAG Laser  (1064nm):

This laser is the safest option for darker skin types due to its haemoglobin absorption rather than melanin. This laser is used on skin types 4-6 (Asian skin to Dark African American skin)

Therefore our technology is safe and effective for ALL skin types.

HOW DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL WORK?

Laser hair removal works by targeting the melanin (pigment) in your hair follicles. The laser's energy is absorbed by the pigment, destroying the hair root and preventing future growth. Hair grows in cycles, therefore multiple sessions are required to achieve optimal results, targeting each hair during its active growth phase.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

To achieve optimal results with Laser Hair Removal treatment, we recommend a minimum of 8 treatments, usually spaced 6-8 weeks apart.

After your course of Laser treatments the hair follicles will be destroyed, any sporadic hairs from hormonal changes can be rid of with a top up every 6-12 months.

The quantity of sessions required can vary between individuals, therefore our expert laser practitioners will assess your skin and hair type during your consultation to create a personalised treatment plan that suits your needs.

DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL HURT?

Most clients describe the sensation as a mild pin prick. The Candela machine includes an advanced cooling system that blows cool air onto the skin immediately before the laser pulse, significantly reducing discomfort.

WILL LASER HAIR REMOVAL WORK WITH PCOS?

Yes. Laser hair removal can be highly effective for women with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome). PCOS can cause excessive hair growth due to hormonal imbalances and laser hair removal is a great option for reducing and managing the unwanted hair.

However, because PCOS can lead to continuous hormonal fluctuations, you may need more sessions or maintenance treatments. Regular maintenance sessions can help manage and keep the hair under control.
